Our big camping weekend was the last weekend in May and the boys had a great time! They hiked, played with their cousins, fished, cooked over a camp fire, slept out, swam, and roasted marshmallows just to name a few things. We're not sure what fishing shows Lucas has been watching but the boy was a natural. He grabbed the fishing pole and cast the line like he's done it before. If he has been fishing before we don't know about it.
Over Memorial Day weekend we dropped off the boys at Grandma and Grandpa's for a date night Friday evening and a busy work day on Saturday. On Saturday, we got a lot of yard work done and a few odds and ends around the house. One big change was getting a twin bed for Lucas. He made the transition from his crib smoothly and loves it. He does get up a few times at bedtime but then settles in. So far I'd call it a success! Both boys ask to climb our front tree all the time now. They're getting so big!
School has ended and we're off to enjoy the summer weather with friends! We visited Fondulack Farm Park with our playgroup. Connor was super excited to go back to the farm park. He had a school field trip just 2 weeks earlier but has talked about going back ever since. Lucas enjoyed seeing all the animals too and they both enjoyed feeding the animals ice cream cones full of feed.
Here are some of the Moms with their little ones. We all had a great time despite the large crowds that day.
Tons of tadpoles were in the ponds and had grown since our last visit just 2 weeks earlier. We can't wait to see them as little frogs!
Here's one of Connor's favorites at the farm. This large turkey kept his attention a long time.
We also visited Tipton Park earlier that week with our friends Rachel, Jake and Alison. The kids loved that the water was turned on but they did run back and forth between the water and dry warm towels! It was a little chilly with the wind but then on our hike around the park we enjoyed the wind blowing to cool us off as we 'hunted' for ducks and threw rocks in the water.
