New Table

After years of searching we finally found our 'new' table. I spent a long time (years) looking for something I really loved without the hefty price tag. The table is recrafted from canopy bedposts and old barn wood! We were outgrowing my old college table and really needed something bigger. This table seats 8 maybe 10 which is just right for all of us and our reading habits. Now the search for chairs. Hopefully it won't take me years. Anyone have any suggestions on matching chairs?

New Look

I hopped on the updating the blog bandwagon. What do you think? It was pretty easy with backgrounds from thecutestblogontheblock.com and a few custom colors. Maybe I'll get inspired and redo it more often.

Marbleworks

Lucas is fascinated with the marbleworks they got for Christmas. We build it taller and bigger each time. What does he do when it's too tall? Well, he stands on a chair. We started him off with only one marble at a time but now he races six marbles! Hours of fun each day!

January Fun

I took advantage of the post Christmas sales and got Connor a battery powered Christmas train. We can pretend it's almost like Grandpa's trains...but not really. Connor loves it though! He even has his buildings set up around the track like Grandpa does. This kid dreams about trains I bet!

The kids also got a very cool Batman and Joker racetrack from their Uncles Dennis and Derek! They love it and it has gotten almost as much use as the trains.

Unfortunately, the weekend of the 10th we all came down with the stomach flu one by one. Lucas started Friday night but he bounced back quickly, then Matt got hit and then poor Connor. I am proud to say I just got a mild case. Poor Connor was the hardest hit and took the longest to recover. See how cute he looks? He's still my little guy no matter how big he acts.

We celebrated January and February birthdays also this month and Connor had so much fun celebrating his birthday early with his Great-Grandparents Beagles, Grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and us. Thank you all for celebrating Connor's birthday with us!

Connor decorated his own cupcake with TONS of candy. Luckily, he picked all of it off and ate the cupcake and frosting. PHEW! That would have been one good sugar rush!

Christmas

Christmas was tons of fun for all of us. The kids really got into celebrating Jesus' birthday. It was great seeing the kids have so much fun with family!
Connor was exhausted by the afternoon. And even the cousins trying to wake him up didn't work. He was out! Luckily, he woke up in time to see Santa!

Here are 7 of the eight cousins. Ben is missing. It's hard getting them all to cooperate for a photo!

The boys were charmers at my parents house too and enjoyed seeing Grandma and Grandpa Albu and Auntie Em.

Another Update

It's been a long hiatus again from blogging. So, here are a few pictures from the holidays and the boys just being silly.

This is what happens when we're stuck in the house too long.

Lucas' senior picture by the fireplace! Lucas was more cooperative than Connor this holiday season with the picture taking. I got a whole bunch of good ones of Lucas and just a few okay ones on Connor.

Fall Leaves

We've had some gorgeous days this last week. The boys and I enjoyed playing at the park or in our backyard. We even had several picnics. Our maple tree on Monday finally decided to lose its wonderful red leaves and the boys 'helped' rake. Most of the afternoon on Tuesday was spent raking the leaves in a huge pile and jumping in. We got very little cleaned up by the time it got dark.
